Miss Rwanda unveils new swanky website

Miss Rwanda organisation has launched a new stylish, interactive and user-friendly website that will become the single source portal for all updates related to the Miss Rwanda pageant as well as information from past editions.

The website, www.missrwanda.rw, was unveiled ahead of the launch of Miss Rwanda 2021 edition, with the grand finale expected to take place in March 2021.

According to Meghan Nimwiza, the Miss Rwanda Organisation Head of Communications, the new website will enable the public and all those interested in Miss Rwanda to follow regular updates and news as well as activities related to the pageant.

“We wanted a website which allows visitor Interaction with comment features on different pages as well as a strong validation process by the website administrators, in a bid to make Miss Rwanda more accurate in communication and in terms of engaging the public,” Nimwiza said.

The new Miss Rwanda website allows easy and smooth navigation and is reinforced with Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), to give Miss Rwanda visibility across the globe.

Among other things, the website will have different sections with various information on Miss Rwanda, the historical background, news updates and galleries from past Miss Rwanda editions.

“In this era and age where many people have access to the internet, we thought it was important to have a website that acts as a ‘one-stop-centre’ on everything Miss Rwanda and at the same time be a source of information for the general public,” Nimwiza said.

In terms of technical aspects, the Miss Rwanda website moved from SPIP to WordPress, making editing and sharing updates easier for administrators, given that it uses a new Content Management System (WordPress)

It will also make it easier to track website statistics with Google Analytics) and also boasts of an Editor Interface (Web Content Management System), which offers easier navigation and management. The website is also secured, will have improved styling and design compared to the previous one.

“All Previous editions of Miss Rwanda content is available for those who want to access it. We encourage people to regularly check out the website for updates on Miss Rwanda,” Nimwiza said.

The Miss Rwanda Organisation is working around the clock to start the search for Miss Rwanda 2021, with major changes expected following the New Coronavirus outbreak, as well as many other key reforms.
